I bought the DVD that Dragon NaturallySpeaking sells and watched the video on nuances website. They both are very good. However, this book goes into far more detail than either of those will ever do. And when you run out of your warranty of 90 days you will find this to be very helpful. In fact it suggests that you use the military alphabets when you say" spell that". There is a military alphabets under help it is called spelling. Things of this sort are not covered in the video or DVD. This book is a must if you are serious about mastering this software. If you are one of the unfortunate ones that has never learned to type then Dragon NaturallySpeaking is for you. This book will answer questions and tech-support will always be available for $20 per time you need help them.

I was a systems analyst for 20 years so I think I will instantly understand any technology. Fortunately a friend loaned me a "Dummy" book years ago and it was written the way that I wanted to write documentation (but it was frowned upon).I like the simple format with the icons showing things that are important to know and things to avoid. I even had a "Dummy" book on breeding dogs.The book gets you started and then adds to your knowledge after it has you started doing the basics.
I had pretty much no idea what I was doing, even after the tutorial. It seemed like my mic was acting up every time I tried to use the program. This book clarified how to use the program effectively and now I can dictate easily and surprisingly accurately. The book describes the program and how to use it efficiently with as little extra clicking as possible. I found most of my basic formatting needs were met once I read through this to find when/where the command words should be used and what those commands actually did.
I have found books for dummies a great way to hold valuable information without having to earn a engineering degreeTo figure out what they are talking about. These books are great for quick reference and have great information when the season calls for it. You can find what part you need to help you get what you need now, and no phone calls to tech support dealing with stupid recordings with bad choice of back ground music. This book gives you quick easy information at your finger tips without the hassle. Want expert information to be a expert then try these books!
This book really explains how to run Dragon effectively. It is clear, concise, to the point, and honest about what the program can and cannot do. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to use the program, and especially to those who hope to control their computers by voice.
The book addresses an earlier version of "Dragon Naturally Speaking" than the version I received from Amazon, yet it will still be useful. To date, I have only glanced at the book, and haven't even initialized the software. Just haven't had enough time. Still I eventually plan to do it, and will make good use of my "Dragon Naturally Speaking For Dummies" book.

I have made a cheat sheet to work with.Like most other things you have to teach Dragon but after it learns it has very few problems.I most definitely recommend this to people using Dragon or are thinking about.
