Most stories are geared toward older kids. I didn't find many that I could use right now with my 4 year old. This book may be more helpful in the future.
I hope I can return this. After reading reviews I had decided to get it because there were a few reviewers tha said there were some stories for middle schoolers (the cover even says that). However, there really aren’t. It is not useful for 7th grade girls-not the social stories we need anyway. However, It is excellent for pre-school-2nd grade,
I'm very disappointed in this book and wish I could return it. I purchased it because my wonderful Social Stories book went missing. From what I could see in the previews I thought this would be the sequel to my well used missing book. I was hoping to get stories such as Keeping Others Healthy When You Cough, and How To Greet Others sadly that was not the case. This book is full of 150 lengthy stories that have no real application for any of my students, past or present. I would NOT recommend this book for anyone working with students in the general education classroom. You also need to have access to an Adobe converter to edit, but really none of these stories are applicable for my students. Not to mention the reading level is way to difficult for students who struggle with comprehension.
My son doesn't have autism, but has ADHD and is dyslexic. The world is a little exhausting for him and he told me he thought this book was genius.
This book is great for helping a person develop social stories for kids with autism. I was hoping they would be just a little more detailed in some of them, but I use it all the time.
I would have loved for it to be more editable and more graphics but the content is clear.
Good resource for parents and new therapists. Will help you understand why your child is struggling and how to help them. I've used it personally and professionally.
I can't wait to use this with my patients who have a Social communication Disorder! It will be helpful for all ages, especially middle and high school.
